This week's edition...

You can tell I'm not feeling very creative when my posts are just made up of what happens during my tutoring sessions. But enough of that, here's a revised version of one of the stories from last week.

That 'Anastasia' one she simply re-wrote almost word for word (with minor spelling corrections) and then decided to abruptly finish before even writing about what happened to her after that "day in 1916" because they had reached the end of their page...you hear that? That's the sound of my teeth grinding and my shovel being polished. GARGH!

The other passage gets a chuckle out of me each time I read it.

As usual, this is typed 'as is'.

In the horizon

One day, their was a paint who loved painting. His name was Troygen.

On a very windy day, Troygen was looking out in the horizon. He thought, What a beautiful sight.(The student actually wrote this phrase out in italics) On the very same time He saw the character Pocohontas. She was floating in the air. I must be dreaming, he thought so he went into his house and pinched himself. That really hurted.

Once he saw the horizon with Pocohontas floating in the air. He relized that he could paint that picture and sell it. This is because he isn't very rich.

At last, when the picture was done, he Looked at it himself. It Looked so realastic as if you could jump into it and be at this place.

Even though, he was a smart man he was very stubborn. So he jumped on on the picture because he thought it was magical and he could be in this beutiful Land. and after the pretty picture broke.

So from that day the horizon was his unmagical enemy.

If you disregard the poor spelling and lack of grammar, some parts are actually quite cute but TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE FOR A YEAR 5 STUDENT!

Gargh, seems like I'll have to play the "evil tutor" card today.
